In your recently uploaded "How we make Minecraft" episode, you made the argument that what makes Minecraft "tense" is constantly depleting hunger and the imminent night time. This is an issue for balancing, as people have pointed out. Once you get 3 wool and 3 wood that no longer is an issue, because once you have a bed, sleeping is easy and risk free. Basically, half of what makes Minecraft "tense" is removed. At least food takes constant work and creativity to obtain. Once you get a bed, that's it. While I don't think removing sleeping on normal/easy/peaceful isn't a good solution, I think sleeping on hard and beyond should be disabled (you can still set your spawn with beds). This will bring back the challenge for veterans. An alternate, is to make it a gamerule. At the very least, add SOME kind of penalty for skipping literally half of the "tension".
