Cuprous Creeper (a renewable source of copper)

Cuprous creepers sometimes spawn in place of normal creepers, having gray-green, stonelike skin. They have a shorter fuse, less explosion radius, and are immune to negative potion effects. When killed, they drop 0-1 gunpowder and 0-1 copper powder. 9 copper powder can be crafted into a copper ingot. Not only that, but copper powder can also be brewed into a potion of curing, which instantly cures 1 random negative status effect (or 2 if brewed with glowstone) from any mob/player. This potion effect is inspired by copper's antimicrobial properties in real life.

  this is prob the best idea for renewable copper ive seen you easily have my vote and i hope this gets added in the game

  Since copper is a metal, wouldn't copper nuggets be a better fit?

  Copper powder should probably be much easier to craft into copper ingots, given that it'd be much easier just to jump into a cave and mine all the copper you see. Otherwise, though, I love the idea.
