Everyone's had that moment when their maxed out netherite or diamond sword accidentally taps our furry friends, reducing them to smoke particles and string, feathers, or anything else of the like. Furthermore, it's often commonplace to have a mob which you keep as a companion due to the Name Tag item allowing you to grow attached to a rather special fish, sheep, or even zombie. Loosing your friends is always a bummer, but this is minecraft. In a game full of infinite possibilities, why should a pet's death limit your enjoyment. Like the player and the bed, if a named mob or tamed animal were to walk over the Pet Mat, which would look like a red carpet surrounded by a yellow hem border, the color of the mat will change to blue(the center can be dyed after it's been activated) to indicate that the mat has been activated, along with a message in the chat stating that "*Mob name* has found a home!" after this point, should the animal get meet a tragic fate, it would respawn on the pet mat, like with the player and a bed. If another named mob or pet walks over an activated Pet Mat, nothing will happen and it will not be reassigned. One mat per animal. However, if a pet or named mob walks over an unclaimed pet mat, the pet will reassign itself to that mat. Perhaps, in order to avoid inconveniences, like the player, a pet can only be assigned a Pet Mat during the night time. Mobs assigned pet mats would not drop loot to avoid exploits, and would only drop their inventory, like us.
