The Copper Block could be given the ability to power a Comparator's side input. Currently the only block type that has this abiltiy is the Redstone Block, but it requires a piston to control it, and only gives you the option of 0 or 15 power levels. The Copper Block would provide a solid state alternative, which also preserves the signal strength value.
This is useful in cases where powering the Comparator's side input with Redstone Dust is not an option due to compacting reasons. As with the Target Block, this change adds another way of routing the signal at no risk of making other redstone components obsolete.
