A soul skeleton is a skeleton that lives anywhere a large amount of soul sand spawns in the nether. The soul skeleton has a unique feature: its head is lit with a soul flame. The blue flame indicates the soul skeleton's hearts and when the flame dies, so does the skeleton. However, if the skeleton is near a lava lake, it will throw itself into the lake in order to replenish its fire. In addition to lave, any flame enchanted arrows or weapons will deal less damage as the fire also heals the soul skeleton. The soul skeleton is aggressive against ALL mobs as its primary goal is to capture the souls of those around them. The reason for this is that the soul sand biome used to be massive and beautiful, but once the heart of the biome died, so did all its life and beauty. It is because of this that the soul skeleton tries to kill everything it sees and why this type of skeleton is rare as there are only a few of its kind left. The soul skeleton, once defeated, can drop its head, which can be lit on fire and used as a light source. Near a this type of skeleton, a player may find a warped wood hut with a deep basement where the artifacts and past history of this long lost soul city reside.
