Allow install of the iPad app on M1 Macs! Heck port it over to Mac OS and make users pay the $6.99 again in the store - we'll do it! Just unite the user base under 1 version once and for all!

There is literally no reason they can't do this. The Education edition is already bedrock and on macOS. The code literally exists. The iPadOS version could have been modified and rolled out by now, too.

Please Mojang/Microsoft!! All I want in life is to be able to play with my kids, in our world, together... and use my keyboard. joke, i want more out of life, but this is a start.

Java edition is great and all, and I would much rather play it, but a lot of the people I play with don't have computers and play only on consoles.

    Bedrock Edition everywhere?

    Yes please.

Multi-OS household here with MacOS, Windows and Linux.  I own Bedrock Edition on Windows and IOS.  Happy to pay again for Bedrock on MacOS (P1) and Linux (P2).

Minecraft Bedrock was created to be cross platform but it does not make sense to have it windows exclusive. I have minecraft Bedrock in ps4, android. As I work with multiple devices having a mac version would mean getting a realm and playing across platforms devices. This is a valid use case. Give us a mac version. Microsoft.

I believe this is because macOS does not support C++, which is the coding language used to develop Minecraft Bedrock Edition, Minecraft Dungeons, and Minecraft Legends. But i hope Apple or Microsoft find a way around this, as the macOS gaming community is growing since the release of Apple Silicon on Mac.

This would be a great decision for mojang, because with the release of apple's M2 chips, Macs hardware is optimized for gaming and anything else that requires loads of power, which means that Mac could become the industry standard for gaming.

Yes, please release Minecraft Bedrock Edition for macOS, at least for Apple Silicon chips (M1, M2, etc.).

macOS does support c++ (why shouldn't it?). It may be possible that the use graphic libraries etc. are not supported, which could be the case if mojang is using older versions of OpenGL. But I don't think that would be something that would prevent them from doing so because they also released versions for iPhone and iPad, which means they have access to required resources.

I would like to play minecraft bedrock on macOS with the M1 chip, I have only seen that you can play Minecraft Java, but I have a realm in Minecraft Bedrock on IOS but I want to play on my mac with my friends, that's why I haven't bought minecraft on my mac , if you put minecraft bedrock for macOS M1 I will buy it without any problem and I see that many people here would also buy it

Do you have any information on a potential timeline for Bedrock Edition’s availability on macOS? This would complete the universality of Bedrock Edition and would finally allow for the depreciation and phasing out of the Java Edition. That has to be the eventual goal from a business perspective.

Recently Mojang has been pushing both Bedrock and Java as a combined package deal to sell the game. However, for MacOS users they may buy the same package and yet are only capable of using Minecraft Java Edition. Seeing as how both games are being pushed as a package deal, Minecraft would likely sell more if both games were actually offered to MacOS users. I would also like to make it apparent that Minecraft Bedrock Edition is available on IOS rather than Java (due to system compatibility issues), making Bedrock popular. In the past this might have been incentivized by users buying both versions, but seeing as how now both editions are being sold together this no longer holds any incentive. Rather, there are many disincentives that come along with Bedrock Edition not being available. Bedrock players would like to play MC on their Macs and will pay for it. These audiences are likely to buy the packaged deal if Minecraft Bedrock Edition is made available on MacOS. This is true because they’re able to maintain their communities and groups they play with on Bedrock Edition, while also exploring Minecraft Java Edition. Moving forward I see MC Bedrock Edition being made available to MacOS users as both a legitimate way to make money for Mojang, along with a way for longtime Bedrock players to enjoy the version they are used to. Both interests align and therefore pursuing the release of MC Bedrock Edition on MacOS will be in the best interest of players and developers alike.

I know I can just side load the iOS app, but I want an official port because I already own both Java and Bedrock edition (Bedrock is through Win 10 store, I bought it a long time ago) and want to play them through the launcher on macOS.

This situation is simply a nonsense. The processor is the same and the system is not anmore that different. For instance, most iPads apps can be downloaded on mac and run quite good, exept some buttons that are still optimised for touchscreens.

Mojang seems to have blocked the option to download the iPad version on mac.

Bedrock is supposed to replace java, how is it supposed to be the case if you can’t donwnload it on some devices ?

There’s no good reason, other than greed, to not add support for Mac m1. If it runs on iPad m1, the it’s probably a very simple update to allow it on Mac.

I concur. Apple devices have more than enough capabilities to run Bedrock Edition. It seems strange to exclude MacOS from Bedrock while they have the same hardware as the iPhone and iPad. Even if it were just a universal binary for the moment, something is better than nothing.
