Horn Bow

Horns serve little purpose and a good way for players to want to search for them is to let them be used to upgrade your bow.

In real life Horn Bows are a lot stronger then regular bows and can handel a lot more tension. I decided that this upgrade could give your bow more durability and shoot faster arrows. Faster arrows can make it harder for players and mobs to dodge them which could come in handy in pvp. Horn bows can even deal some extra melee damage due to it having sharp points on each end.

You won't be able to make a Horn Crossbow and to upgrade your bow you would have to use the smithing table. 

The Horn bow is a useful but not too overpower weapon that could have a cooler, sharper design.

    Very nice. I've been waiting for a post like this to be made. I think the idea of using a smithing table is interesting. It would certainly give smithing tables more use. For me personally, I thought that Horn Bows could be made with a crafting table by combining a Bow with 1 stick, 2 goat horns, and 3 string. A possible recipe could be something like this:

    [ empty, goat horn, string;

       stick,       bow,     string;

      empty, goat horn, string ]

    This recipe would be a little more expensive than your idea, but I suppose that a bigger perk could justify the cost. Perhaps, in addition to added durability and speed, Horn Bows could allow players to walk normally while drawing the bow - i.e. players wouldn't be forced to sneak while using a Horn Bow. I also thought that this upgrade could apply to crossbows as well, but I'd understand why they wouldn't be included. If both bows and crossbows could be upgraded though, ranged combat as a whole could see some change. Also, since horn bows are associated with traditional horseback archery in real life, it'd be cool if Horn Bows deal extra damage when used while on a horse. Overall, good idea.

    It would be great if it was recurve instead of a longbow like current bows in Minecraft, but that is just a texture thing.
