If you kill the Warden, it releases the trapped souls and they kill you

The trapped souls don't have to be grateful souls. They would be difficult to fight, if not impossible to defeat.

Its like opening Pandora's Box. You were warned to avoid the Warden but you didn't listen. So instead of being rewarded with loot, it results in your doom one way or another.

  The warden is supposed to be OP because you're not supposed to defeat it.
