I will try to keep this concise. Minecraft recently has taken a very progressive standpoint about animal safety in-game, by trying to discourage players from killing mobs, such as the new goats and axlotls, for example. I understand that the developers don't want to encourage violence toward animals, but minecraft is just a game. At least a small part of what makes minecraft so fun is that we get to do things that maybe we shouldn't in real world, like exploiting mobs for certain items. In-game mobs are not real animals and should not be treated as such. I think that the developers should stop trying to cram pacifism down our throats. Not everybody wants to play the game that way. They don't need to encourage the killing of mobs, but they should not discourage it either.
