Since the Desert, Savanna and Badlands aren't the most exciting biomes in Minecraft, and they're all quite similar in real life, so why not have an update that focuses on and improves all of them? Here are some ideas for how they could be updated.
Deserts and Badlands could have more green vegetation which could cluster in specific or more likely places, like more cacti and living bushes, and Savannas could have lots of that tall, yellow grass that you see on documentaries. Perhaps, for realism, any trees (and most of the sand, actually) could stay in the Deserts and the cacti could all be in the Badlands.
Now for some miscellaneous ideas. Desert wells could be given a use, like indicating a village nearby, which would now usually be located near water. There would be a huge opportunity to add interesting mobs, like lions for example, that maybe, if there was just a cub on its own, you could get it to trust you and it would act like a tamed wolf, until it grew up, when it would be old enough to fend for itself. There could also be snakes, scorpions, elephants and loads of other potential mobs. There could be Desert/Badlands mountains for Caves and Cliffs, and buttes, which could hide something at the top of its vertical cliffs. Finally, as the Badlands are basically a blocky Wild West, why couldn't there be dynamite or a lasso to catch escaping animals as you attack them for food?
Thank you for reading my ideas. Please vote for this post if you liked them.
