Minecart speed problem

Minecarts are really too slow! I suggest that placing different blocks below powered rails should change the top speed of the minecart:

  • Glass blocks should give them a top speed of twice the current top speed.
  • Packed ice should give them a top speed of three times the current top speed.
  • Blue ice should give them a top speed of four times the current top speed.

This would really make minecarts much more popular, iron mining would be more popular, glass would have purpose other than decoration, packed and blue ice would be more useful, and improving the overall game experience!

    very good solution to the minecart problem but i also think minecarts also need a bit of a base speed boost ontop of your idea then maybe they can compete with boat ice travel

    I agree with this, but maybe not as fast as you said since that seems like it would be a little overpowered. Maybe 1.5x, 1.75x, and 2x instead

    Why not just the speed of minecrafts from the old console editions? Those bad boys were actually useful
