Place blocks on boats

Being able to place a block on the boat, could be useful with furnaces, where the furnace goes on your back, the furnace would take the space of a second player, being right behind you as you travel, and you could just let your food cook while you sail the seven seas, I think it would be a great way to make the boats even more useful, and practical.
