Dogs can teleport further

Some days after adventure in minecraft I get more pets than expected so I can't fit into one boat, i dont have leads, so I try to see if they'll teleport across the ocean. I've dont this many times before but all times the pets have never teleported across the ocean please expand the pet teleportation range. It may not be the teleportation range but sometimes they just get stuck on another island and they don't come without me going back or closer.
