This biome has two variants, for the "spaghetti" and "swiss cheese" caves. Both are littered with carpet-like blue-green bioluminescent "glow-lichen" on the ground, and vine-like glowlichen on some walls. In the chambers of larger caves, bioluminescent giant glowshrooms grow out of the walls, floor, and rarely the ceiling. Glow squids have a high chance of spawning in the water of Glowshroom Caves.
These caves are beautiful and eerie, but fraught with danger as the glowing fungi aren't bright or plentiful enough to keep monsters from spawning. Players will visit these caves to admire them and collect the bizarre native flora.
Glowlichen (both floor and wall variants) emits a light level of 4 and spreads like vines, but only in small patches like mushrooms. Glowlichen has a small chance of growing into glowstalks if there are no other glowstalks nearby. (Be careful with performance impact of these checks - glowlichen needs to grow and spread very slowly!)
Glowstalks can be broken to get a pile of glowspores, which can be used for planting more glowlichen or as a brewing ingredient to make a Potion of Climbing, which allows the player to climb any non-transparent block for a short time.
Giant glowshrooms have curved stalks, pointed tops, and are a little smaller than other giant mushrooms. Their caps emit a light level of 8. They are also bouncy, and will bounce anything that lands on them to one side. Small glowshrooms can be "bonemealed" into big ones by applying glowspores.
