Cave Update - the copper issue - possible solution
As we all know there's a little problem with the new copper ore. That is: for all intents and purposes it is to be used as a normal building blocks but as an ore is not as aboundant as let's say, wood and you need a large amount of it to make a copper block (this was recently cut by more than a half, but still, you'll get 1-2 blocks per deposit).
Since the addition of copper stairs and slabs another question emerged as well, that is: "why can't we have iron stairs?" and so on.
I think there is actually a good solution to all these problems. I humbly present to you:
The caster block.
Caster block is similar to the cutter block but this time it targets metals such as copper and iron. The exchange rate is 1:1 meaning that you don't need excess materials (if you want to have two copper stairs you need only two copper blocks)
This way you can have both golden doors and iron slabs in game without the need for a ridiculous amount of materials to be mined.
I would advise for.the block to have a crafting recipe including iron (maybe even iron blocks) and lava.
Note: This is not another furnace, we already have a special furnace for metals.
