Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

    I'm totally agree.

Even if it won't be an update on its own but if they can add new / advanced recipes using foods that already exists.

Que añadan maíz y arroz entre otros granos; si añadieran el arroz se podria hacer sushi con algas y salmón. Y que hallan mas tipos de panes entre otras cosas.

That they add corn and rice among other grains; If they added the rice, you could make sushi with seaweed and salmon. And that they find more types of bread among other things.

Idea for it, Sweet Berry Pie and Glow Berry Pie.

They could be a possible farmer villager trade instead of the normal pumpkin pie.

They could activate almost 3 hunger points, but i don't really know about that, if thats good or bad.

Something like combining existing foods to get bonuses would be good too, basically making it similar to potions. Stuff like bacon and eggs, surf & turf using different fish. Lamb roasts and stews with meat and veggies, and coffee for speed boosts. Make the effects last shorter than potions but be slightly more potent.

We should also be able to eat food without being hungry for roleplay reasons.

I keep wondering about foods with things already in the world.

Sunflowers - could we roast them in a camp fire or a furnace?

We have buckets of milk and bottles and cocoa beans. Could we make chocolate milk?

Someone suggested wrapping raw fish in seaweed for sushi. With our without the rice would be fine IMO.

We have berries, and pumpkin pie, could we make berry pies?

Bread + meat + bread = pile of 3 sandwich or burgers ?

And bacon + eggs. Tho, that could get too complex?

    Anyway, Food update please, thanks

Something I thought of could be introducing this as part of a farming update with new crops, as another user said. The sniffer would be a great way to introduce new crops.
I also have the idea making the new foods on a "hearth" or "stove" by making a copper pot or pan and placing it on a campfire (hearth) or combining a smoker, copper pot/pan, and other blocks (stove). Foods made in these could give more saturation than normal foods (including golden carrots), and most importantly should be able stack (Cakes are already stackable to 64 in Bedrock Edition last I played). And this would give copper another use.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. There are so many different foods in the world and many COMBINATIONS! Mojang/ Microsoft need to take what we already have and make recipes and combos that we can put together to make new, better foods. I.E. Beetroot pie or honey bread or honey cookies.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks a Food Update is needed.

If I may. I'll add to your suggestion, which is in line with my other suggestions.

So, we need food that warms or cools depending on the needs of the biomes we're traveling in.

Hot soups to warm up or spicy soups to combat the cold. Iced water and ice creams to cool down when we're in a desert biome. This will require implementing a hydration gauge.

The coconut you're suggesting could help hydrate the player.

Let's be honest, it's only at the beginning of the game that we eat almost everything in Minecraft. But once we're settled in, we only eat potatoes, steaks, and golden carrots. It's a shame we don't exploit the potential of food. Plus, we can imagine dishes that have an effect like potions. And we could even consider adding a village cook.

I don't know what you think.

    Food Update! 🍲

Food in Minecraft feels underdeveloped, even though hunger is one of the game’s core mechanics. Once you have enough pigs or cows, there’s no real reason to farm or cook different meals. My idea is to make existing foods more useful and add variety for both early and late game.

First, veggies need parity — if we can bake potatoes, why not carrots or beetroots? Each cooked version could offer slightly better saturation. Also, we have poisonous potatoes, but not poisonous carrots or beets!

Stews are another missed opportunity. They should stack (maybe up to 16), be cookable in cauldrons, and have more recipes — like pork, fish, or mutton stew. Adding small unique effects (speed, healing, or faster mining) would make them way more interesting.

New crops like tomatoes would refresh farming and unlock new dishes. Eggs could finally make omelets, and sugar could be cooked into caramel for desserts.

Milk bottles (stackable up to 16) would make milk practical again. Rotten flesh should be compostable — a realistic, useful change. And maybe cookies could help baby villagers grow faster?

Small tweaks like these could make Minecraft’s food system more dynamic, rewarding, and fun — encouraging players to actually explore different diets instead of just living off steak forever!
