Once you have a diamond armor you can craft a "texture table" That you can use to combine a piece of your diamond armor/tools with a gemstone and create for example an emerald sword or a amethyst helmet or a ruby pickaxe but without introducing new levels of armor and instead having a variety of gemstone armor just by giving diamond armor some customizable retextures
