Maybe variety boats such as 1 chinese junk boats,  2 viking warrior boat and when built get 1 to 4 warrior npc as your subordinates, 3 native american canoes customize with different tribal paints, 4 make the legendary flying dutchman ship as tough achievement build lots requirements, 5 roman pentaconter boat use/find npc grab with rope put on boat as paddlers, 6 a steam or coal oven powered  boat with wooden or metal propellers with different durabilities with speed and usage, 7 ancient egypt pharoh boats.
