Birds

I think we need way more birds. We need small birds, like finches and cardinals. I also think some bigger birds would be nice. We could have eagles and flamingos. I just think we need some flying birds and not just ones that live on the ground.

    I agree that we need more action in the currently empty skies. Also, it would be nice to have birds with different purposes. Maybe some birds could be nocturnal, such as owls, and could help protect against phantoms when tamed. Seagulls could scavenge treasures from the water or something when given food. If killed, birds should also give meat and/or feathers.

    I agree. If it was just one mob, like "bird", it could function similarly to tropical fish, where it was just a small, exotic animal that flew around, and didn't really drop anything except maybe feathers. It could come in a variety of colors, like the tropical, and resemble different birds like sparrows, cardinals, and blue Jay's. This would be a great edition to the skyscraper and forests of minecraft.

    I love the idea but if u could explain the different biomes they spawn in and stuff like that i would love it more and also how could birds be added in as pets how will you tame them will there be babys nests maybe if u could just add more detail i would love it to the max

    I do think that as a birder that more bird life would be nice as a new use for telescopes and just a fun way to pass the time in game

    I personally agree with your idea as well. I believe that if we have birds spawn in places such as the plains biome it could fix some of mc unnerving silence and would work well in some kind of ambience update yk:)

    Realistic birds are a desired feature. Breeding birds, nests, eggs, etc. are also desired. I'm glad that we have birds at all, and love the pet feature, but there will always be room for improvement.

    I think birds would be a great atmospheric addition to forests, but could also have 1 unique feature where you can kind of barter with them like piglins. If you can approach a bird without if flying away you can feed them seeds, by which they will fly away and then come back with a random drop in return. Could have common items like string, sticks, wood, and then much rarer items like iron and gold nuggets.

    I completely agree with this. One thing I've noticed is missing in forests is ambience. Birdsongs would be so good to make forests more interesting, and like people have said, it would be fun to have a bird (most likely a crow) to retrieve random items for you.
