Scoreboard death

I want to be able to use the /scoreboard objectives add deaths. It would make map creators lives so much easier. Also the hearts objective too.

    is /scoreboard objectives add deaths deathCount so much more complicated?

    /scoreboard objectives add name deathCount
    /scoreboard objectives setdisplay [samename] list (so death count number shows in the tab player list)
