Sound option to lower thunder volume

We all know what happens when thunderstorms arrive in Minecraft. 

We have to toggle weather sounds off for the thunder to not ruin our ears. 

It would be very nice if lowering weather sounds actually did lower thunder volume too.

It's very annoying.

    I 100% agree with this. Additionally, It would be nice to have a sound option just for lowering the thunder sound while keeping the other sounds constant. Also perhaps have the thunder sound scalable in volume proportional to the depth that you have traveled in the earth. i.e. the further down the lower the sound, and the higher up the higher the sound. The thunder sound could also have a similar distortion effect in water. These changes benefit the player experience greatly by having a toggle-able option for thunder sounds while adding to over all ambience of weather effects in different situations.
