Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Paint

In Minecraft, if we had paint, you would be able to paint a single side of a block. For example, if I had a Purpur Bricks block, I would be able to paint one of the six sides on the block any color I would like. You can craft a brush with a stick on the bottom middle part in the crafting bench, and then have string or leather everywhere on top. Then, you can use a cauldron and make any color of water you would like. Then, right click the dyed water with the brush, and then right click any side of the Purpur Block, and it would have one side, for example, be Lime! I think this would help Builders very much, as it could help to make more realistic builds!

    Of the several more recent paint threads, you actually propose how this would work.  Well done.

    It would be nice to be able to paint the inside of a wall of a house and not have it be the same on the outside.  Or paint the outside if you have the color of the inside.  Certain blocks could be painted like wood, concrete or stone, but not dirt, sand, concrete powder, etc. 

    Painting blocks would also eliminate the need for vertical/standing/upright slabs as others have requested.  This would solve that desire on some level.

    The look of the block wouldn't change, just the color of it.  If you know how to tell the difference between wood, stone and concrete then the pattern would still be present.
