I play pc but my friend play's on xbox and we cannot play together

    I want to play mods with my brothers and cant because we've got one pc with Minecraft installed

    I agree, I don’t have the situation but have played Java and like it, but can’t get it and would like to. I have ideas on how to do this, like when you load in there is a game mode select screen that shows Java or Bedrock, and you select which version to play.

    You can. If you create a java server (aternos) you can add a plugin (geyser) to play cross
