I love adventuring, building, and redstone and I have a brand new cave biome suggestion which incoorporates all of these things... Fadestone Caves!
There would be new blocks including:
-Fadestone: a dark grey to black stone type that would further the light contrast due to another block-
-Fadestone Crystals: I know it is a little common to suggest 16 variations of colorful crystals, but these would just be blocks, not with shards and magic items. They would be semi-transparent, comparable to that of a honey block, with an outer layer and a less transparent inner layer. These would light up if stood upon, an item has dropped on it, redstone activates it, or updated by block placement and breakage. The internal textures would connect, so it isn't a grid block, and it would glow with the same light as redstone ore does when it is touched and in an 8 block radius like that of a sculk sensor. The state change could be detectable by sculk or an observer so there could be verticle or block redstone that is only 8 blocks so it is balanced. Different colors wouldnt connect or get activated by the same origin block.
-Colored Fadestone: This would be a colorful half slab sort of block, but it would be able to be placed on top of another color or the same color and fade from one to the other. For example: red to yellow with an orange-y texture in the middle.
There would also be an interesting new ore.... No more space so there will be a second post.
