With the new addition of the Warden, it seems possible that mutated mobs or evolved substances/plants could be very common in the future of Minecraft, if not already. A cool new mob introduced to Minecraft would be if a slime had mutated with redstone. Slime can be used to infiltrate or combine with other substances, creating a weird or powerful substance as a result. This would make sense if a Slime had combined with redstone and iron to create a sort of AI/robotic redstone version of a slime that could be called: Redstone Mutation or Red Mutant.
I picture this mob retaining its cube appearance like other slimes but it would be floating instead of hopping around. This mob could have magnetic units on its body that could create an electromagnetic field that allows it to defy gravity and float. With the slime being partially made out of iron, it would be hard for it to hop around. The way this mob would attack would be a fast straightforward dash through the player. This would be a slight counter to shields since the player would have to keep turning around to face the mob and block their attacks since the slime would end up behind them. The slime would circle around the player, similarly how Ghasts fly around the player before shooting a fireball. A cool gimmick that would make this mob tough to beat would be duplication. When this mob gets attacked, it would duplicate itself a few times, creating a sort of hologram of itself that would attack the player creating confusion.
