I would like to propose a few changes, particularly around animals.
First, cages and aquariums - 8 iron bars in a square makes a cage, 8 glass blocks makes an aquarium, that can hold 2 small (cat, fox, etc.) animals, or 1 medium (villager, illager, zombie, horse, etc.) mob. I'm not sure what the key strike or click would be, but cages could be picked up, filling a 2x2 or 3x3 section of inventory, stack size 1. Aquariums can only be used on aquatic creatures and include water when collecting, cages cannot be used on aquatic creatures.
Second, each biome should have an animal in non-peaceful mode that can be provoked to aggression (or perhaps randomly experiences hunger that makes it aggressive, coded to not get hungry for a time after feeding), during the day, or perhaps an option in the settings to include / not include aggressive animals.
I would like to see: Alligators (aquatic and land) in swamps, Lions in Savannahs, Tigers in Jungles, Snow Leopards in Snowy Biomes, Sharks in Oceans, Bears in forests, perhaps others.
Why? What does it add?
First, the cages and aquariums allow for the transportation of animals over long distances. Having to navigate a horse with a periodic boat is only a little frustrating at 500 or 1000 blocks/meters. It becomes irritating at further distances.
Second, it allows for the creation of things like defensive moats and pits (which add value to enchantments like punch and knockback).
Drops? based on diet - fish, raw mutton, etc.
