Absolutely yes! I often use my off hand for eating and placing blocks, and it is really helpful on Java, but when I play it on Bedrock, it really restricts my actions! I hope they add this!

How has this not happened! If I can hold a shield it can’t be that much more code to hold a torch!

Yes! At least give bedrock torches, tools, firework use with Elytra, and food. Even better if they can add blocks because being able to hold two types of blocks would be sooo useful for building.

If an item is enchanted with mending, holding it in your off-hand while fishing is the best way to repair it in Java Edition. Items are painful to repair in Bedrock without it.

I immediately think: Yes! amazing idea, but how would that effect controller players? how does that work for the people who play on controller? because an easy right click on the mouse to use something on your offhand would be odd. like assume something thats in your offhand. like food. and your holding a hoe, trying to hoe the land. what would it prefer? or is it like that on java too?? or would the offhand not affect controller players?

i think Mojang hasnt put it in because implementing it onto controller would be hard.
