Currently, as of the latest Minecraft snapshot (20w51a), axolotls are now in the game. You can breed and feed them by using tropical fish, but on the official Minecraft website, it says it may be changed later. I propose the idea that phantom membranes be used to feed axolotls, as phantom membrane has almost no use in actual gameplay. Almost nobody uses it for fixing elytras, so why not use it to feed axolotls? It would give more use and purpose to phantoms and phantom membrane.
Not to sound like Peta, but another reason for the change can also be said for the tropical fish, as in real life, some tropical fish are endangered, so perhaps teaching kids to feed endangered species to their pets probably isn't a good idea.
