Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Shift to place straight rails

I know it's possible to place straight rails next to each other (for farms and such), but it's really annoying to always have to place an extra block and rail to get them to go in the right direction. I suggest making it so if you shift while placing a rail, it will place it straight regardless of whether there are rails next to it.
