Hi Mojang,
So, as you know, the Cave Update will bring a lot of resources, retextures, updates, biomes etc. to the caves. But have any of you noticed that Minecraft has every primary resource (e.g. wood, coal, iron etc.) except Oil?
Oil has many uses in the real world, including powering our vehicle. Oil could also be used as a sort of explosive in the aspect that you could make a trail and light it on fire. So the summary of the text is: Oil has many uses and should be added to Minecraft.
If you DO decide to add oil, then I think it makes sense if villages have their own Villager Oil Derrick as a sort of income. In fact, for the derrick to be something that works, there should be a profession that dig and collect oil from underground. They also trade oil and other oil products, such as plastic. These villager types would be known as Oilmongers.
So, in summary, I think:
- Oil is a real important and valuable resource, and should be added to Minecraft;
- A village, especially a desert village, should have a village oil derrick;
- There should be a profession of villager to operate the derricks called Oilmongers.
I hope you agree with me too, and decide to add it with the Caves & Cliffs update.
