Maps to underground ore deposits.
Underground ore deposits- Underground ore deposits would be a large group of ore deep underground. They would have a random chance to be coal, iron, copper, or gold (though the gold ones would be most common in mesa biomes) deposits. Underground ore deposits would probably consist of around 26-38 blocks of ore. They would only be able to spawn in enclosed spaces, meaning you wouldn't find them by just walking through a cave. You could strip mine to find them, or you could use a special map.
The maps- The maps would act like treasure maps. They would be found in structures all over the overworld. Just like the treasure map, there would be an X over where the ore deposit is located. Once you reach the X, you would just have to dig straight down to find the deposit.
I think that this would be a great feature to add because it would allow players to large amounts of ore. It wouldn't be too overpowered since you would only be able to find coal, iron, gold, and copper in the deposits. They would also just add to the exploration parts of Minecraft traveling large distances to get huge collections of ore.
