More uses for Amethyst

Scoped Crossbows: You would be able to use a crossbow, one amethyst shard and something called a copper nugget in a crafting table to make a scoped crossbow
Goggles: You wouldn't be able to wear a helmet, but goggles let you see better in the dark and underwater (Note: Not as well as Night Vision)
Dagger: The knife is small and only does as much damage as a gold sword, but they have very fast attack speed before needing a very fast cooldown and if you have one in your offhand and main hand you can attack with both. You would quickly stab with the offhand dagger (right click) and then stab with the main hand dagger (left click) and keep doing that.
Amulet: You can enchant an amulet with certain enchanted books and xp levels, and then that amulet will have that effect. Holding the amulet in your offhand will give you the effect that it is enchanted with until you stop holding it.
Amethyst Arrows: Amethyst arrows travel faster than normal arrows and do more damage. Harder to get due to rarity of amethyst in survival Minecraft
Amethyst Shield: Maybe a little out there, but hear me out. In reality, amethyst had a hardness level of 7, meaning it can be scratched but not easily shattered smashed or broken. The shields would be lighter than a wooden shield but also can be broken easier and quicker by diamond than any other material because of gemstones being able to easily cut other gems. This means a diamond axe will activate a shields cooldown in one hit.
