Just wondering how many more deaf people have to die in their hardcore bedrock worlds before they finally add this feature..

Bedrock still does not have subtitles. I fail to see why such a crucial accessibility option is STILL missing from the more widely-available version of the game.

Why doesn’t this exist already? I have hearing issues and my gameplay is impaired, I can’t play properly on my switch even though there’s an acCeSsiBilIty section. Please add :((

No subtitles makes bedrock virtually unplayable for me and makes me wonder why we even bother having an accessibility menu. It is very very necessary for me with hearing loss, and it sucks because it's the cross-platform edition that 'includes' everyone I want to play with otherwise.

People with hearing aid need this I am extremely surprised they didnt add it to both versions

I always play with captions on with Java, but since a lot of my friends only play bedrock, I was aghast to find out subtitles aren't already in :< PLeeeaease, I use the heck outta subtitles since I like to listen to music and am much more visual when it comes to playing games (Often muting or significantly turning down game sounds)

Tried Bedrock again today, and remembered why it's frustrating to play: hard of hearing, and can't always hear the nearby monsters. This is an accessibility issue and deserves parity.

This is not only for those who play without sound enabled but actually for people with audition disability, should be already in game to be honest as bedrock is the one aiming for cross platform gameplay.

2022 and still no dice? I have reduced hearing on one side so on Java I could use the direction indicators to place sounds, badly missing on consoles and mobile bedrock

Almost two years since this post, and Bedrock is still missing subtitles. At this point, this is more of a major accessibility issue over a simple parity issue - the Bedrock edition of the game is legitimately inaccessible to deaf or hard-of-hearing players and I'm extremely disappointed that they still have not corrected this.

Please add this! I’m a Java player and I just introduced my mom to Minecraft. She already had a Switch, so she plays on Bedrock. She keeps asking what every sound is and is scared of everything. I wanted to turn on subtitles for her so she wouldn’t freak out over nothing. Then I saw that it wasn’t an option on Bedrock…

Please, it should be a thing in accessibility for many reasons. This is the one thing I rely on in java just put it in bedrock.

Honestly disgusting that this still isn't a feature? Like why haven't they implemented this yet :(

I need this. I have issues with sounds, and I will sometimes use music to help drown out trigger sounds. I need this so I can play the game the same as everyone else. People who are deaf can't play the same as those who are able to hear fully. There's an accessibility barrier, and as someone with disabilities, it saddens me that Bedrock is less accessible than Java.

I actually can't believe we're still waiting for this. Inconsiderate to HoH players.

It's shocking that they haven't put it on Bedrock yet. You would think they would add such an important feature to the version on all the consoles ... I sincerely hope captions get added. Seeing other comments from people who really need them makes me frown.

I need this, I'm unable to tell where noises come from (direction wise) and I use subtitles on Java edition always.

Between people with hearing impairments, and people with auditory processing issues, this is a MAJOR accessibility issue. How is gameplay fair for them as it stands right now? Honestly it floors me that this wasn't rolled out with the original program.

With the 1.20 update having some inclusivity features, this is a perfect time to implement subtitles.

This is a pretty glaring mistake from mojang / microsoft - this is a completely basic accessibility issue and should be addressed immediately as a no brainer - any clear reason for why this has not been implemented in all versions of the game?

This is a very basic, very common accessibility need.  Keeping the auto CC on my computer settings turned on does not help with Bedrock.  Quite frankly, this is one issue that keeps me playing Java and rarely playing Bedrock because I can't hear.  I don't know a hostile mob is near me by sound.  The only way I know when a mob is near is because they just attacked me or killed me.  I can't hear them coming.

I can't believe this was put up as an idea 2 years ago and there is still nothing in Bedrock.
    So very disappointing.

I am extremely disappointed that this is not already an option. This is a clear instance where a small change could help an entire community of deaf, hard of hearing gamers, as well as people who simply have audio processing issues.

Please add this to bedrock, I usually play with headphones in to help with me hearing monsters but there are times that this just isn't possible. This is a very helpful tool for accessibility and should be set as a priority. (I regularly use text to speech for chat messages and I find it helpful.)

This is absolutely a needed feature, I'm surprised it doesn't exist already, partly since it already exists on another version of the game. I understand that they aren't programed and whatnot the exact same way, but clearly they've done it before and can do it again. It also isn't just a convivence, I know deaf people and people hard of hearing, it's an important feature that helps them play their game.

Also, having plenty of accessibility settings for blind and seemingly none for deaf shows a clear decided factor of what they find more important. Which I find insulting, they shouldn't pick and choose accessibility, they need to fix this ASAP.

Please, please add subtitles. I have horrible hearing and tinnitus and it would make my gameplay so much easier and engaging if I could properly differentiate the sounds.

I'm hard of hearing so this is vital for me to know what mobs are around! If I'd known Bedrock didn't have this, I don't think I would have gone with Bedrock over Java...
