Possibility to hide purple enchantment effect from armour, weapons & books

Leather is just one kind of armour that looks awful with that Morrowind-esque bright purple sheen covering it.

I'd love the ability to hide the sheen from view, either as part of a crafting recipe or something similar so I can go around with enchanted leather without it looking ridiculous. It could be bad for gauging how strong an opponent's gear is but then again if you go after someone with diamond and expect them to not do some damage that's on you. Adding this functionality to written books would be great as well so they won't be confused for actual enchanted books.
