Thick/Heavy Leather Armour

Leather armour kinda sucks in Minecraft but there may be a way of making it better like it's possible to in real life: by getting a whole bunch of it and compressing it/sticking it together.

This new Thick Leather would require you to combine 3-9 leather on a crafting table but when made into armour it'd be really good against swords, axes and zombie bites due to its denseness (maybe as good as Iron or better?) but have less projectile protection and low durability. It can of course be dyed as well.

To diffrentiate it from the regular kind the chestpiece could cover the arms up to where the wrists would be (so when dyed it'd look like a long sleeved shirt or leather jacket) and the helmet could cover some of the face with a piece akin to a balaclava. For the rest maybe the colour would be different, the armour be thicker or have large stitched(?) seams on the texture.
