When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).

Came here to post the same idea!

In addition, I feel the white and blue lanterns should respond to a redstone signal, so they turn off when they receive a signal. For example, this would enable us to make blinking lights in red, white and blue.

Esto podría funcionar para enviar la señal de Redstone hacia abajo como se puede mandar hacia arriba con las antorchas, d e hecho vine a aquí a proponer lo mismo

Came here to say the same thing. Maybe it can power the block it hangs from. And the signal strenght can get weaker depending on the amount of chains used (vertical redstone?). Maybe this one could also be turned off by a signal. It could also work as an underwater redstone source since lanterns are placable underwater. Maybe it can give off a light level of maybe 7 or 8 or maybe the light level is dependant on a signal strenght (so its light level can be 8 normally, but 10 if powered by a redstone block). This is a stretch, but what if all redstone in the lanterns light range is powered based on the light level it is in which is tied to signal strength. Also it can just be aesthetic (for horror builds idk)

It would be great if the redstone lantern could be toggled on and off like a lever. Powering it from underneath or from the side seems slightly impractical for normal use seeing as it would be used as a decorative block, however, making it possible for the redstone lantern to be toggled would allow it to function like a night light in a room or have a use like a normal redstone torch but be able to be switched and and off directly. This might make it very useful in some redstone circuits as well because the redstone lantern could work like a redstone torch that is already in the off state without being switched off by something else. Then it can be switched on by a circuit in the same way that a normal redstone torch would be switched off or vice verse if it was left in the on state (then it would act like a normal redstone torch).

I was coming on here to post the same thing!

I feel like both Java and Bedrock will benefit from this. Imagine the amazing redstone contraptions that can be created with lanterns instead of using extra blocks for redstone torches.

We have soul lanterns and normal lanterns made from their corresponding torches, redstone torches are the only ones without their own lantern. It would make for awesome redstone builds and it would also make for some really incredible base builds or aesthetic builds also. Imagine red nether brick with deepslate and redstone lanterns! That would be so cool!

I think the Redstone lantern should behave in a similar fashion to Redstone torches. When placed on top of a block; it can be powered through that block to be turned off, and when in the on position it soft powers the adjacent blocks (including the block above it being soft powered unlike the redstone torch). When it is placed below a block, it behaves similarly; the block it is hung from can be powered to toggle it off, and it soft powers the adjacent blocks. Its light level should behave similarly to how the redstone torch is compared to the torches. It should be dimmer than the other lanterns, but brighter than the redstone torch.

Came here hoping I'd find a restone lantern suggestion! I think it would complement the other lantern colors well and I've often found myself wishing for an 'upside down' redstone torch which seems to be the perfect and most straightforward function for a redstone light source that can hang from other blocks.

Great idea mate! I'd really love to see this added in game!

I have also had this idea for a while. What I would like to see is if it had some analog functionality, able to turn any signal strength and invert it if powered by a block under or above. Being able to have it act like an upside-down redstone torch would be an added benefit as well.

I'd be happy even if it didn't do anything special, just a decorative way to not need to hide redstone is nice.

This drives me insane that you can make regular lanterns out of torches and soul lanterns out of soul torches, but NOT Redstone lanterns out of Redstone torches. And I love Redstone torches as a design in buildings, the lantern would be a game changer.

Have it also power the block below it exclusively too

The copper torch and copper lantern addition only solidifies this addition!
