New Armor Uses

Minecraft won't add new uses for armor because there is no justification right? Well instead of just standard protection, there could be armor that lets you walk silently, or become invisible, or maybe extra blast protection but little other protection. Amethyst armor could even make the amethyst sound when you walk! They could do so much with this!
