Minecraft hasn't had any new Paintings since quite some time. Paintings are a small feature in the game that have been forgotten so I thought it would be nice to bring them back up a little bit.
Paintings will always remain Paintings so they don't really need any amazing mechanics. I see Paintings more like a funny easter-egg in the game (and easter-eggs are always nice). Im not going to talk a lot about having new paintings in the game because there are already quite some posts of that on this website, even though I definitely agree we should have more.
What I want to talk about is Craftable Paintings :
What are Craftable Paintings and why would we need them ? When you craft a Painting in the game and place it, the Painting you get is totally random. This feature should still remain as it is but if we get more Paintings, we wouldn't want to waste plenty of time to find the perfect one. In that case, my idea is to be able to craft a specific Painting.
How to craft these Paintings ?
I thought of crafting the Paintings through a Loom but I'm not sure if that's good. Paintings should be craftable, like banners, maybe through a new job-site block...?
Let's take for example the "Match" Painting :
I'm not really sure how to craft them, so I came up with two ideas :
idea 1 :
Craft a Painting
Put, in the Crafting Table, the Painting and a Cake
idea 2 :
Craft a Painting
Craft a Cake Pattern (Cake + Paper)
Place the Painting and the Cake Pattern in a Loom or a job-site block
