My son (6 years old) received a Raspberry Pi for Christmas last year. It's his first computer and it's an important part of his education.

When he first got it, we set him up with Minecraft and he was ecstatic! But when we found out he would no longer be able to play once the new microsoft accounts started being enforced, he was devastated.

We're all pretty sad over here. Please make this right, Microsoft! There is no good reason the new launcher shouldn't be portable to the Raspberry Pi!

Either that, or give a way to open a Mojang account for new users. I just bought Minecraft Java edition, opened a new account, followed all the steps, but I can't play because of this discrepency.

Don't deprecate the old solution before the new one can cover all the use cases!

    yes I agree

with the re-introduced simulation distance settings, you can probably smoothen your game even more!

and I would personally love being able to just play minecraft on my raspberry pi lol

The RPi is a cheap, brilliant way to play minecraft. I know there's a Minecraft Pi edition, but the kids really want the Java version, to play with their friends.

It used to work, please fix so that it works again. Thank you.

Launcher for RPI, it's not that hard to make. Just tweak the launcher to run on 32x and 64x arm cpu's

Please i bought java edition super excited that i might be able to play i was super disapointed i don't have a pc or laptop so i can't really do much on this thing but if i could play java on the RPi it would make my day so much better to come back from school and play a little bit of modded mincraft or java edition which has more freedom. SO PLEASE ADD JAVA EDITION BACK TO THE RPi

Guys search up pi-apps by botspot, he made an App Store of sorts for the raspberry pi, it has a Minecraft launcher with Microsoft account support!! It uses a modified version of the lunar client, it works great! It was only released in the last couple weeks, check out his discord and GitHub repo for more info

Plus the legacy 1.6.93 launcher is old and outdated. I also don't have a Mojang account either. Please add a port to the latest java Minecraft launcher to the raspberry pi please!

I definitely agree with this petition, there is indeed money to be made in the Raspberry Pi user community, as far as selling Minecraft licenses goes. This will probably be a good buisness investment for Mojang.

Same. This also applies to Mac users and Linux users, as they require to use the old launcher that can't support Microsoft accounts. The only thing is to just add a little thing. If they fix it for Linux, then the problem is solved as the Raspberry Pi can support it. Maybe you can run it in Raspberry Pi OS as it is based on a Linux distribution.

Forgot i was following this report. Just got an new message on the thread.
Perhaps this has not already been posted, but Pi-Apps has several options for Minecraft on the RPI.
Bedrock, Java w/ the GDLauncher, Java w/ Prism Launcher, and an implementation of the Minecraft Server.

Rejoice! (and leave Mojang to other more important tasks. ;)  )
