Amethyst Bottles

In real life, it was (and is) believed that amethysts provided healing and protection. With that as inspiration, I've come up with this idea for minecraft: Amethyst bottles are crafted like normal bottles, except you use amethyst shards instead of glass. They can be filled with water and then be used to brew better potions than normal glass bottles. With the catch that they will break upon being drunk out of a certain number of times (maybe 3?). There are many different ways in which these potions would be better, but here is my idea: Potions with extended potency or duration which are brewed in amethyst bottles will magnify the modifier applied to the potion. E.g you could have a healing potion of tier III, or a night vision potion that lasted 12:00 minutes. There are, of course, other ways these potions could be made to be more powerful. I would be interested in hearing other ideas. I would just like it if there was a practical reason to have tons of amethyst shards.

  Actually, the recipe should include a bottle which can be replaced with a potion to turn the potion's bottle into an amethyst bottle
