With the upcoming root blocks in the Caves and Cliffs Update, it would be cool to see roots applied to all tree structures in the game. To not remove the uniqueness of the Azalea tree, they will have the deepest roots out of any tree. Oak, birch, spruce, jungle, and acacia trees would have about 1-3 roots under or next base of the tree in the dirt. When making a 2x2 tree such dark oak, large jungle trees, or large spruce trees would have slightly deeper roots that can spread out more to about 4-6 root blocks underneath. To make sure this block isn't exploited, once the tree is cut down, just like leaf blocks, the roots will slowly revert back to regular dirt and grass blocks. To make sure it doesn't slow down gameplay for games such as skyblock, tree saplings can still easily be placed on root blocks and even help speed the growth to incentivize replacing destroyed trees when farming wood.
