Endermite as a parasite

Endermites have no function so they should have a function where they will behave as a parasite to other mob so that they became powerful and hostile They can't infect enderman They can't infect flying mob which fly They infect passive mob to make it hostile

    Endermites should infest shulkers. Like clams, the shulkers would encase the parasite in a pearl, which would explain how they appear when ender pearls are thrown

    I think it won't fit into the lore as enderman are related to player and it could be done if ancient human of Minecraft who flee to The End got infected by it and became enderman of today

    Endermites definitely are a parasite. I think that's why the endermen attack them. It was officially said, I think in the mobestiary? Don't quote me on that. Anyway, I think it would make more sense for them to only infect end mobs. They only spawn rarely, from ender pearls, and you get ender pearls from endermen, right? Judging from the way they spawn, I would say they live inside the ender pearl and leech off the enderman when it has a pearl in it. Since the endermen only have a pearl sometimes, I assume that they grow the pearl inside them, but lose it sometimes, since the chance of them dropping it is small. Maybe when you kill an enderman, it has a chance of dropping an ender pearl, and an even rarer chance of spawning an endermite, from the pearl breaking or something as you killed them. I don't know. This just turned into a ramble on end lore, without any good ideas or suggestions.

    Anyway, continuing the ramble, endermites are parasites, but they should be parasites for shulkers. Real pearls are made when parasites enter a clam and the clam encases it in its saliva to soothe itself. Shulkers would do the same thing with endermites, creating ender pearls, which is why some ender pearls have them inside. As for why endermen have the pearls, it could just be that they collected them to use before they could teleport naturally
