(Bedrock Parity) Attaching Leads to Boats

In Bedrock Edition, a lead can be attached to a boat, allowing the player to guide the boat around or leash it to a post for docks and more creative uses. Perhaps this could be added to the Java Edition as well?

    Please Mojang... This needs to be fixed. I play both bedrock and java depending on my device and it is super annoying that it isn't an option in Java version.

    Look. With the darkness effect added, we need to bring a shulker to the overworld for the how did we get here achievement. Which sounds more fun - pushing a shulker, block by block, to the exit portal using pistons while it constantly makes you float too high to put them in the right orientation, or putting it in a boat, leading that boat, and using an elytra to fly there?

    I’ve not been able to tether my boat to anything in Bedrock Edition (playing on an iPad). I thought you couldn’t tie a boat to anything in either edition? Plus what kind of post is there in Minecraft? Not saying it isn’t true, legitimately wanting to know so I can do it!! I so want this to work.
