Wool, as a universal silencer

Wool is used to prevent vibrations from being detected by the skulk sensor, so i had an idea.

How about making wool (or some special kind of silencing wool) that would block the sounds in general? For example, you don't want to hear constant sounds of pistons in your machines, so you could incase the machine in this wool, so that it wouldn't annoy others. Or hide an underground secret farm by incasing it with wool, so that the animal sounds would not give away its location. And much more.
