Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

There are already many ways of doing that.

    1. Light things up, though you already know that.
    2. Play on Peaceful Difficulty to prevent hostile mobs spawning.
    3. Run the command "gamerule mobGriefing false" to prevent creepers and endermen destroying the world.
    4. Run the command "gamerule doMobSpawning false" to prevent all mobs from spawning.
    5. More complicated ways that use multiple commands, there are many but this explains a few I believe: https://www.polygon.com/2020/9/11/21431195/how-to-stop-monsters-from-spawning-mobs-disable-spawn

The new light block option is awesome. You get light but no lamp. It works great for mobs. /give @s light_block 64 15 (that’s 64 light bulbs at their brightest. 0-15. I use them in creative to mow down weeds too!
