    Also wet sponges and crying obsidian, though maybe not crying obsidian.

    I think all blocks, as far as I know, drip water particles when there is a water source above them. I don't think any blocks besides dripstone should drip water because then it takes away from its uniqueness, unless of course everyone is fine with them having the ability to fall and injure players as well as drip lava

    i would think this could be implemented as a worse version of dripstone. being able to drip water but not lava.

    I was thinking that since you dry mud with dripstone to get clay, the dripping water should be able to fill a cauldron like lava does.  Just seems to be a mechanic that is visually there already.
