Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Turret

Hey we've all seen the crossbow and the plain old bow and we can all agree that we really needed the new bow but I feel that we still have a shortage of ranged weapons so why not add one? 

Idea: basically its a Crossbow attached to a platform but it takes up four blocks but it also has double the range and the crafting recipe would be...

    The turret will need a reserve of arrows to work, so I think replacing the middle wooden slab by a dispenser would make more sense.
    Or it will be necessary to put one under the turret to supply the turret of arrows. Instead of the dispenser, it will be necessary to put in the craft a redstone powder to supply the turret.

     

    Another idea I think would be to do as for to the dispenser, but which would have a rotation capacity to shoot on the mobs around.
    The dispenser needs a bow to by craft, so there could be another variation with the crossbow.

     

    To enable the turret you just need an active redstone circuit.

    It sounds like you're describing a ballista, and I think this was suggested in a YouTube video, if I remember correctly.
