A better use for nuggets

Most of mining nowadays is plowing through stone or gravel endlessly in hopes of hitting ore. What if there was a small chance that when you break a block of stone or gravel you can get nuggets. Also what if there was a better use for nuggets while they are used to make golden carrots and glistening melons, I feel like most of the time they are just crafted back into ingots Thanks, Alex

  They could spawn from gravel, but from stone it would just cluter your inventory

  Make it like a 1/10 chance of occurring so there is a reason to do this but not a priority method.
