Red Stone, water and lava containment blocks

Would really like to see a basic containment block that can be placed over something already occupying a space like Redstone dust, Redstone torches, repeaters, comparators, etc. As it is, you end up with a lot of blocks that simply float over those things and leave an open 'hole' in your Redstone contraptions.

This would also be handy if you wanted to build water or lava pipes to prevent them spreading out from that source block in any direction but the 'in and out' points. You could make 'junctions' by placing an 'in-out' side against the side of another pipe. No idea how the equation would work to make it function, I only come up with ideas.

Obviously, it would need to have arrows on it (like an Observer) so you could see which way it was facing if it was a repeater or comparator, and a wee picture or icon on the side to identify what it contains once it is constructed would be handy too. You might need to make some new plumber and Redstone sparky villagers to go with it.

    I thought that glass blocks could simply be made to be hollow, and things could go inside. When next to each other they would create a larger hollow block, which could also be used for pipes if water is placed inside
