Someone already suggested this, but it really had none of the ideas I did.
The dogs are really lame in my opinion. They get in the way, they aren’t very useful, they force you to either endanger their lives just leaving home or make them sit still in one spot. I propose we change all this and make it the truly perfect companion it should be.
- Add personalities. Pandas can’t keep this feature to themselves and wolves are the perfect candidate for personalities. Playful will always grab sticks off the ground and bring them to, jump and run around you as you explore, playfully bark, and are ready to play. Loyal always stick right next to you, fearlessly defend you, and lay at your feet while you sleep. There’s plenty more to come up with and would be a great addition.
- Add boredom activities. The dog can sit, move around, maybe protect the land from mobs, kill some sheep, depending on the personality, chase their tail, run around till they get tired, or just doze off. Normally right-clicking will just make them sit.
- Stop them from following you. Shift+right-click them and they won’t follow you and will do some boredom activities, limited to the environment they’re in. When you return, they will run over to you (again, depending on their personality)
- Laying down. (Pretty self-explanatory)
